We have been using Unitedstreaming in our classroom to help students put another sense into learning. We have been using Character Based Biology approach to science. I have supplemented text lessons with video imbedded in Powerpoint to help students visualize what they are reading.
Students view the results of their computer based math lessons in an excel spreadsheet that is posted in the classroom. Likewise they see the credits they have earned on an excel chart that is posted in the room.
We are preparing to get students familiar with Powerpoint as a presentation tool for a science project we are doing.
I find this to be a tool I have to think about using in my classroom due to the nature of our student population. Since students roll in and out so often so that they need to be constantly updated on new things. However, that is just something to think about and not a "don't use" mentality. I'm sure with some creative thinking I can find applications for this aspect of technology.
We covered some very meaningful sights last night that I can use right away for my classroom. The project learning has the most interest for me since that can be accomplished in short snippets of time and all students present can participate and learn.
